
The White Bear – ‘Small, traditional and friendly one-roomed local built on the site of Idle Manor and dating from before 1750. It is affectionately nicknamed “The Scruffy” and is popular and busy especially during the cricket season. A disused well was discovered inside some years ago. The beer garden is popular in good weather and a window at the back of the bar serves it. Quiz nights are held on Thursdays and Sundays. The main lounge and bar surround required replacement. This is a high-traffic area that requires a hardwearing carpet and vinyl that is also easy to maintain.
We sourced a special contract wool axminster from Cavalier Carpets which incidentally met perfectly with the client’s colour scheme and environment requirements.
Installed over Cloud 9 underlay which offers excellent heat and sound insulation but are lighter than conventional rubber underlays.
Forbo novilux oak wood plank effect – commercial vinyl for the bar surround added the perfect.
The pub is a popular place and is open every day and evening therefore, our commercial team had to work to strict timescales for stripping out the old and installing the new flooring without causing any disruption to the business.
